Rename a Project

Update the project name as the case develops.

Use this when

The project name no longer fits — for example, you started with a placeholder name and now want to set the final case name.

Before you start

You need an existing project. The new name must be unique across all your projects.

Rename a project

  1. Right-click the project card on the Projects screen, or open the project and click the vertical three-dot icon (⋮) in the top-right corner of the project detail screen.
  2. Click Rename....
  3. The Rename Project dialog opens with the current name selected. Type the new name directly — the existing text is highlighted so you can replace it without clearing it first.
  4. Click Save.

What you should see

The project card and the project detail heading both update to the new name immediately.

If it does not work

  • Save button stays disabled — the name field is empty or unchanged. Type a new name to activate the button.
  • "A project with this name already exists" — another project already uses that name (case-insensitive). Choose a different name.
  • "Name must be 60 characters or fewer" — shorten the name and try again.
  • Rename... is not in the menu — make sure you are right-clicking a project card, not a recording card. The recording rename option is separate.
