What Happens When a License Check-In Is Overdue

How the app behaves if it cannot reach the license server.

Use this when

A banner has appeared at the top of the HumVision window telling you to connect to the internet, or the app has locked you out entirely.

Before you start

HumVision stores the time of your last successful check-in locally. If the app cannot reach the license server for an extended period, it moves through a warning stage, a grace stage, and finally locks.

The three stages

Warning (days 30 – 39 offline)

A yellow banner appears at the top of every screen:

> Connect to the internet to stay signed in. N days left.

The app is fully functional. Tap Refresh now in the banner to check in. The banner disappears once the check-in succeeds.

Grace (days 40 – 89 offline)

The banner turns red and fills the top of the screen:

> Your session has expired. Sign in again to keep using HumVision — N days left before the app locks.

Two buttons appear: Refresh now and Sign in.

  • Tap Refresh now if you have an internet connection. The app checks in and returns to normal.
  • Tap Sign in if you need to sign in again with your credentials.

You can still open and review recordings during this period.

Locked (day 90 and beyond)

The app returns to the activation screen. You must sign in again with an internet connection to restore access.

What you should see

After a successful check-in, the banner clears, the app status returns to active, and the last synced date in Settings > Billing updates to today.

If it does not work

  • Refresh now fails — the device cannot reach the license server. Check your Wi-Fi or cellular connection and try again.
  • Sign in fails with "can't reach the network" — connect to the internet first, then sign in.
  • App re-locks immediately after signing in — your subscription may have lapsed. Open Settings > Billing to check your plan status or contact support.
